What sets Kinoshita International apart from other importers, is that the Kinoshita group also owns Chateau Sakaori in Japan, and Vinhos Barbeito in Madeira, Portugal, both wine-making companies in their own right. As such, we are able to introduce various products from all over the world not only from the point of view of an importer, but also with the ability of sharing each producer's perspective and concerns

The original Kinoshita company was founded in 1922 in the southern district of Kyoto. It is one of the oldest companies in the wine and liquor importing business in Japan, and one of the very few companies which was granted a foreign currency allocation by the government, at a time when such allocation was prerequisite for trading with abroad prior to the liberalization of alcohol import around 1970. Naturally, such a long history means that the group has had to face various difficulties throughout its existence, yet it has succeeded each time in adapting its structure or management strategy to sustain its growth to this day. Kinoshita International not only values it employees, it bases its business policy with customers and suppliers alike on the importance of human relationships founded on trust. Yet at times, this policy, which transcends the concept of profit and loss, cannot always be said to be efficient from the point of view of short-term benefits, but we believe it is due to maintaining such a vision that our group has been able to develop over many decades until now.
In addition to its own products from Chateau Sakaori and Vinhos Barbeito, the group's two wineries, Kinoshita International imports wines and spirits from around 60 different makers hailing from the 4 continents: French organic wines, Portuguese wines from producers rated as their respective region’s best, New World wines with exceptional value for price, German fruit wines made from the finest ingredients, French liqueurs of first-rate quality, not to mention highly valued armagnacs and cognacs - all these products fully fitting the many channels and needs of Kinoshita International’s vast commercial network.

Our goal is to promote such times as those spent around a good bottle of wine, served along a matching cuisine, as friends and family converse in a harmonious spirit.
For that, we work every day with “Passion for Good Life with Good Wine” as our motto, and nothing indeed gratifies us more than when the wines or spirits we produce or import serve as an occasion for everyone for sharing some happy times with their closed ones.
